The last day of a snowy and very cold January, and I am actually smiling and feeling great. It has been an old fashioned winter here, reminding me of my childhood here in Michigan. The snow pants and scarves, the encrusted clothes that took forever to melt, the radiators that I hung my clothes on, the melting snow underneath them, all bring back a different time. We all walked to school then. No one I knew got a ride on a bus. And we walked twice a day because I lived in the city. It was a big deal if we were allowed to bring a sandwich in a lunch bag and stay at school for the lunch hour.
That was a long time ago. Haven’t thought about those days for quite a while.
Now I have been snowed in because my drive is on a slant and while I can get out I don’t trust getting back up it. So I depend on people to deliver things with their four wheel drive vehicles.
The first blessing is when I saw that my plower had been here and plowed the driveway. The sun was actually shining, and that perked up my spirits.
The second blessing was when the Amazon man showed up. He saw a shovel standing by the door and he actually picked it up and shoveled a wide path to the door for me to get in and out. I was astounded actually!
An hour later a young man from Walmart came with my grocery order, taking advantage of the shoveled path and he carried the bags into the house for me! That was the third blessing!
Now I ask you. How can anybody do better than three blessings in one day! Anybody remember the old radio show “Can you top this?” Probably not. But I had a wonderful day, and I hope that you are all having one too💕
